Who Will Clean Our Sky?

For those who have ever gone on the Hajj to Makkah or Umrah during the month of Ramadhan, you can definitely see how millions of people gather in one place that is not very large, but the place is always comfortable and is kept clean to the maximum. There are teams with special vehicles called the Haram Raptor which are always ready to clean the two holy places for Muslims, namely the Masjid Al-Haram in Mecca and the Prophet Mosque in Medina.

Actually, we who live together on this planet are like that too, more than 8 billion people on this planet live together - if only someone always cleans our earth's atmosphere from excessive CO2 pollution, this planet will definitely remain comfortable to live in for our children and grandchildren. .

Indeed, there is already a system for naturally cleaning the earth's atmosphere from CO2 pollution, namely trees and plants. However, because the number of trees continues to decrease, especially in cities - CO2 pollution is far greater than what trees can absorb, we need other vehicles who are ready to clean the skies of our cities. So that our cities remain comfortable for millions of residents to live in.

Inspired by the Haram Raptor, the Advanced Renewable Organization (ARO) team, assisted by AI, designed what we call a Carbon Capture Flying Object, abbreviated as CCFO, as shown in the image below. This CCFO has a dual function, apart from providing traffic jam-free city transportation, it also simultaneously cleans the city sky from CO2 and other GHG emissions.

For these two functions, CCFO relies on what we introduced as Activated and Functionalized Carbon (AFC). The latest research on AFC has resulted in the ability to absorb CO2 up to 40 times the weight of AFC or around 920 mmol/g. This means that a small CCFO filled with only 10 kg of AFC will be able to download up to 400 kg of CO2 in one flight.

So what is the purpose of this CO2 that is downloaded to earth from the sky? On earth it can be reacted with ordinary carbon from rubbish or waste to become CO gas through the Boudouard reaction, then followed by Water Gas Shift (WGS) to produce hydrogen. The hydrogen is for all our clean energy needs, including to provide energy for the CCFO itself.

Imagine the Masjid Al-Haram and the Nabawi Mosque, which are routinely visited by millions of people every time, it would be very difficult to maintain their cleanliness if it were not for the help of machines like the Haram Raptor. Likewise with the skies in our cities, if millions of people just pollute them with CO2 and other GHG every day without the help of machines to clean them, how long can our cities survive to remain comfortable to live in with this ever-increasing level of energy consumption?
