Triple Frontiers of Sustainability

Advanced Renewable

In the last three decades since the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro 1992, the world has actually intended to change, from destroying nature to improving it - at least this is what the more than 100 world leaders who gathered at that time dreamed of.

However, the reality is that up to now 32 years later there are no signs of improvement, urban communities in general are still facing these 3 big problems, namely city waste, CO2 emissions and energy security. The latter has become increasingly serious with the current war crisis in a number of regions.

But actually these three big problems can offset each other, one problem becomes a solution for the other. City waste, for example, is the cheapest source of carbon, it can be converted into clean, sustainable energy - because city residents will continue to produce waste. When fossil energy is replaced with carbon from city waste - the majority of which is organic, the addition of CO2 in the air will automatically decrease.

If we can capture CO2 effectively and cheaply, it is also an inexhaustible source of C, with this the CO2 problem is solved and so is the energy problem. When we focus on being energy independent and stop relying on the energy we import, our best sources will return to abundant and cheap waste and CO2 emissions.

The point is that when we start from any side of these three problems, we will be able to tackle the other two sides at once. But this requires affordable technological solutions that can be made anywhere - so that sustainable civilization can be spread throughout the world.

One of the reactors we designed below, which we call 3 Front Lines, could be a starting point for overcoming the three problems mentioned above at once. This reactor can be given input in the form of wet, dry, organic, unorganic waste, charcoal or CO2. Everything can be converted into syngas or even pure H2.

With this, the problem of waste and CO2 is resolved, and energy security will automatically improved.
